Canadian Club Whisky Crafting Process
A process over 165 years in the making
The Canadian Club distillery first opened its doors in 1858. Today, over 165 years later, the production process for our blended whiskies remains mostly unchanged, with the same dedication to creating consistently delicious and smooth whisky.
Our Grains
At Canadian Club ®, we have stayed true to the unique recipe and process created in 1858. This is what has allowed us to continue to produce an exceptionally rich and smooth whisky.
Our process begins with the finest grains in the world. Our grain bill includes rye, rye malt, barley malt and corn. Corn produces a distillate that is colourless, odorless and tasteless. We refer to this as our “base whisky”.
Rye, Rye malt and barley malt are the grains that give Canadian Club ® it’s unique flavour.
Each Canadian Club ® variant has its own unique recipe which highlights different grain and flavour profiles. This gives Canadian Club ® drinkers a full portfolio of flavours and expressions to choose from.
Our Aging
At Canadian Club we use white-oak American bourbon barrels to age Canadian Club ® whisky. The use of these barrels delivers the distinctive rich oak- flavour that intensifies in complexity as time goes on and the whisky matures.
Each of our variants have their own unique recipe and unique taste profiles, aged to perfect maturation, all with the timeless elegance of Canadian Club Whisky.
